A Horrifically Fabulous Feast of Stories...

Christmas is coming and, with it, time to curl up in your comfiest chair, cozy rug wrapped around you, mug of something warm and chocolatey or hot and spicy to cheer you as you open this beautiful book of scary spooky, creepy Gothic fantasy.

Here is what Flame Tree, the publisher says, by way of introduction:

'For many, Christmas falls in the bleak midwinter, in the long dark hours where cold icy fingers ever encroach upon the fire valiantly struggling in the hearth. Time-honoured literary tradition leaves us with bountiful stories of gothic chills and festive fear, tales of the dark, moody, ghastly and ghostly. This collection gathers together classics such as Dickens' A Christmas Carol, alongside stories from writers working today, exploring many ways in which this holiday can become dark and horrifying, from ancient Yuletide demons and vengeful Christmas trees to haunted baubles and a different side to Santa...'

I am delighted and honoured to be included, alongside some of the most notable writers of today: Colleen Anderson and Tom Johnstone, Christina Bergling, A.G. Bestwick, Rocky Boudreaux, Ramsey Campbell, Donna Cuttress, Deborah L. Davitt, Marina Favila, Daniel Foley, Marianne Halbert, Mari Harrison, Tim Jeffreys, Christine Lajewski, Damien Mckeating, Gregory Meece, Claudia Romann, Richard M. Sanders, Zach Shephard, N.M. Sirett, Em Starr, DJ Tyrer, and Melissa Ulven.

We are all contained within the pages of this exquisitely presented book, rubbing shoulders with classic seasonal works by Mary E. Braddon, Charles Dickens, Robert Louis Stevenson, Hugh Walpole, Edith Wharton and many others.

My story is Turn Left at Sarah Bernhardt - the story of a woman who decides to treat herself to Christmas in a luxury London hotel, only to find that the magic of Christmas can deliver far more than she bargained for.

So, as the clock ticks down the hours to December 25th, put your feet up, settle down and prepare to be transported to a world of timeless fantasy, endless possibilities, and strange beings hiding in the shadows, behind the curtains, in the attic or cellar, or waiting, like a silent sentinel, right behind you...

Out now and available at all good booksellers on the high street and online, and from the publisher:
